There are plenty of enemy planes of various sizes to blast, and double that amount of enemy fire to evade! It’s addictive that’s for sure, the mindless blasting and shooting. And to be frank of all the arcade games for mobile I’ve played, I found Air Strike 1944 the hardest! It’s certainly not a walk in the park, but thank god there’s plenty of lives to collect as you play the game, and not to mention you’ve got 5 credits to use if you’ve used those all up too. But not too worry, if you still lose even all your credits in a level, that doesn’t mean you have to start the game all over again. The game is saved after every level, so if you’ve run of credits, you simply start that level again. Credits lets you continue the level from where you died. See the difference? I don’t recommend using credits though, fighting a boss with a level one weapon is practically suicide.

I just finished the Off-road Dirt Motocross mobile game from Gameloft. I love playing racing games on the cell phone ‘coz I am able to play them in between the things I need to do daily.

The Off-road Dirt Motocross initially offers two modes of game play — instant and arcade mode. Don’t think I need to explain instant. The arcade mode could be thought of as something like a racing tour. You get to race in different parts of the world.

The 3D graphics of the mobile game are great. Attention to detail has been given to even include such effects as the rays of the sun. There are different scenes depending on the location of the race. Controlling your bike is as easy as it gets especially if your mobile phone has a d-pad or joystick.

During arcade mode, each location offers 4 types of races — a normal motocross race, a race against time, a “last man standing” type of race which is called road rage. The 4th race which is a duel race against the leader in that location gets unlocked only when you have accomplished the first three races.

You start out with a very simple motocross bike. As you gain money thru your winnings in the races, you can use the money to perform a mod on your bike. Certain special tuning capabilities become available as your progress to the game.

One tip when playing the mobile game is not to spend all your money on tuning the bike because you might end up not being able to unlock the other locations. There is a price tag to unlocking the other locations so you have to save some of your money to buy into the race.

The Off-road dirt motocross has a particular twist to the game. After finishing all the locations on the map, you can actually unlock another location by connecting to Gameloft.

Sometimes, it doesn't matter how many quality ingredients you chuck into a recipe; if something happens to go wrong during the cooking, it can all turn out like mush. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor has guns, bombs, magic and myth, pitfalls filled with spikes, death drops and a whole host of burly men who clearly spend too much time down the gym. It's also been handled by a developer that knows a thing or two about your average action adventure title, but ultimately, all these classic elements are never strung together convincingly enough to create anything beyond a mediocre and slightly disjointed experience. If I were to write the box blurb, I'd label it "slightly disappointing."

To the naked eye, all seems in order at the beginning of the journey. Taking charge of 18-year-old Alex O' Connell, son of Brendan Fraser's character Rick, you start off being separated from your retinue of Chinese diggers while searching for an entrance to the tomb of an ancient Chinese Emperor - Qin Shi Huang. The action sparks into life almost immediately, with the first few skirmishes revolving around gunplay.

There are two ways to play the game. If you want to brush up your skills, Freeform lets you fish at leisure without any time constraints. Then you have Competition mode, which pits you against a wealth of other rod-wielders in the bid to become king of the lake. Through days one to three you'll have to finish in the top half of the field, before vying for first plaice on the final day.

Control is simple and feels very responsive. After guiding your speedboat to one of four locations across Lake Horizon, you're presented with a view of the lake and a rod directly in front of you.
